*Magic Fabric Fixer*

There are so many knit fabrics available for mini bears now. Unfortunately, the stretch makes them hard to work with. You can end up with some very fat, strange-looking bears. I keep thinking, "There has to be some easy way to line this fabric!".

I have spent the last year experimenting with nearly every type of glue/adhesive on the market. Many stay tacky and gum up the needle and thread. Others dry hard and crusty. Most were not permanent.

After running out of options, I started testing specialty adhesives from manufacturers.

Magic Fabric Fixer is the one that works the best!

Non-toxic
No odor
Water-based for easy clean up
Dries clear
Stays soft & flexible
Doesn't gum up your needle & thread
Permanent when heat-set
Fabric is easier to trace patterns on and cut out
Stops fraying
*Reduces stretch to almost zero!

*results vary slightly depending on fabric and how much fixer you use

YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO WORK WITH STRETCHY OR FRAYING FABRIC AGAIN!!!

Instructions:
Please feel free to print this as only basic instructions are on the bottle. These pics show a piece of Micro Plush fabric.

With a flat brush, paint a thin coat on the back of your fabric. A nice even coat works best. This fixer is thick so it will stay on the back. If you use too much or brush firmly it will work through to the fur fibers.

Let dry 1-2 hours. It may still be damp. You just want it dry enough to handle.

Heat-set for 5 minutes:
I find the easiest way is with a hair-dryer on HOT. It only needs temperature of 300F to heat-set. Lay your fabric flat. Move the hair-dryer around so all areas get heated. Do not pull or stretch while heating.

The backing is 'sealed' yet still soft and flexible. It will NOT fray and there is almost NO stretch! The fabric will be a little stiffer, but still very usable for minis.

It takes 1-2 tablespoons to cover a 9"x9" piece. To conserve fixer, I suggest tracing your pattern onto the fabric and then painting the fixer inside the lines.

Though it is permanent, I do not recommend washing your fabric after heat-setting. I washed a piece with soap and hot water. It softened up a bit. Still, it was much better than the original un-treated fabric. Surface cleaning the fur should be fine.

I have tried this on every type of knit fabric I sell. Long Pile Cashmere, Extra-Long Pile Cashmere, Micro Plush & Poly Plush. It worked wonderfully on all of them. It should work on any fabric that can withstand the heat-setting.

NOTE: If you are unsure if it will work on your fabric and especially if you are using expensive fabric, PLEASE test on a small piece first. I will not be held responsible for ruining your fabric.

You have to try this! I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
