How to Close a Post & Washer Plastic Nose on a Teddy Bear
by Wee Sandy

Ever have difficulty jamming that little washer onto the post of a plastic post & washer teddy bear nose?

Things You'll Need

  • teddy bear needing a nose
  • post & washer plastic nose
  • small container of boiling water
  • tweezers or hemostats

Place the washer (the little plastic disk) into the container of boiling hot water. Leave it there for at least 5 minutes, to soften the plastic.

Now remove the washer CAREFULLY from the hot water. Best to use tweezers or hemostats to get it out of the water.

Run the post of the nose through the correct position on the teddy bear, then press the hot washer onto the post on the inside of the bear. If you are quick, it should still be maleable from the heat. DO NOT press the washer all the way yet...

NOTE that if your washer has a cup shape, as the one shown, the post goes into the concave side.

Turn head right side out and ensure it is positioned where you want it before you press the washer all the way on. Voila!
